visiting Iosepa at PCC
The Iosepa is a 57 ft. long voyaging canoe which took 9 months to build. It was built right here in Laie and is now being stored in the PCC. Iosepa is the Hawaiian word for Joseph. To learn more about the Iosepa click here.
It was a lot of interesting information, and I wish I could have heard it all. The children have very short attention spans so I spent most of my time taking Kali to the bathroom or helping her realize it wasn't the end of the world because her shirt had a little drop of water on it. Kali really does not like to get wet, unless she is wearing her swimsuit and she is supposed to be getting wet. Seriously, if she gets just a little bit of water on any part of her body and she has her clothes on, it is the end of the world as we know it. She convinced Kaiya to switch her shirts, (thank you Kaiya for being so nice) then Kali complained because Kaiya's shirt was falling off her shoulders. I think she was just having a hard day. In the beginning Kali and Kaiya got to present Uncle with a gift, which was fun. And then they got to play around the Iosepa and with Auntie Dina:)

I wish there was school for the moms to go and do cool stuff where we could actually enjoy and appreciate it all!!! :) wouldn't that be nice :)
You got some great shots!!! as per usual!
:)
the iosepa is always cool to see. It's not as cool with crazy tykes allover the place--but that's okay it's still a good experience for them and us.
i like your pics! I'm gonna steal them.
actually I wanted to see if some of the pictures of kaiya in the canoe worked out so maybe Ill come look at them, if that okay.
did kali and kaiya switch shirts at some point?
looks like you guys had fun.
wish i could have been there!
Cameron was terrible at that also, the whole wet clothes thing! Jason is into it now. He's learning though. It's a pain...especially when you're not home to change! Looks like a cool canoe!
