IPU making

For Kali's school we made IPU's. They are Hawaiian instruments, usually used for rhythm during Hula dances both modern hula (Auana) and ancient hula (Kahiko). Kali picked our her own gourd and took it to the ocean to clean it, after a little scrubbing she decided it was more fun to play in the sand then sit and scrub the gourd, so the moms was left to finish the job, and it was hard work! After it is all polished looking then up cut off the top and scrape out the seeds from the inside, Kali loved that part. Then you sand the inside and polish the outside and WAH LAH you have an Ipu!

For Drew's 2nd birthday we went to a water park. This was Kali's first water park experience and she was so brave. She loved going down the slides and running around in the water. It was an awesome day!

Taro Planting

Kali is in a Parent Child Interaction School right now. It is like pre-pre school, it is for ages 18 months to 3 years old. She goes every Monday and Wednesday for two hours. Today we went to the Discovery Gardens and planted Taro. Taro is similar to potatoes. It is the staple food in Hawaii. They mash is and make Poi out of it. I thought Kali would love getting dirty, but oh contrer, she hated it. I kept trying to put her feet in and she would lift them up as high as she could. She was getting an ab work out. I finally got her a little muddy and as you can see she was real happy about that. I think I have kind of a prissy girl on my hands. She doesn't like to get dirty. She loves to get wet, but NOT DIRTY! I had fun!

Aaron is a PROVIDER!

If we needed to we could totally live off the land, thanks to Aaron. While we were at the beach he climbed a palm tree pulled down a coconut, shredded it and then cracked it open so I could enjoy coconut water and the coconut meat. Which I LOVE!!!! He did all this while Kali and I were going on a walk other wise I would have pictures of the whole production instead of just the end result. Maybe next time. Aaron also loves to spear fish and bring me home lobsters. Some thing else that I absolutely love. My baby takes care of me!

Laie Temple

This is Kali with our neighbor Seth. They love to go on walks to the temple and Kali loves to look at Jesus and say his name. After our temple walks they have a play date with lots of their other friends at the playground on Tues. and Thurs. Kali loves to go down the slides and climb on anything she is able to. She has graduated from the baby swing to the big swing and she feels like such a big girl. However, she still enjoys getting in the baby swing with Seth and they say, bigger, bigger. Kali is going to be a little dare devil.

RIDES

YZMA put your hands in the air!! (Emperor's New Groove)
Every time we go to the mall or to Wal-Mart or any place that has rides Kali has to go on them. She loves them. When the first ride is done, she says more, more and I let her go one more time and than she is satisfied. But she has to get those two rides in. Luckily for me when I let her do this she is good for me in the stores. YEAH!
