Discovery Gardens

For Kali's school we went to the Discovery Gardens where the kids took their O' O's and helped pull weeds. An O' O' is a big stick that Hawaiians use to till the dirt or use sort of like a hoe. It has a sharp slanted end. The kids made them in school last week and now them get to use them. The O' O' Kali is holding is not the one she made we could not find hers, sadly I think it was stolen by the kids running around TVA. Anyways, Kali got to do some gardening today. Here is a picture of her headed out to the garden and then a picture of her working in the dirt, and then a picture of her trying to stab Ella with it. She gets distracted easily. After about two minutes of hard work her and Ella got some water and hung out in the shade with the dog. Then they went exploring around the gardens and Kali spent a lot of time sitting on different parts of the white fence. Then she found those fun logs to play on and of course jump off of. She loves to jump! Last but not least they had water time, so they got to play in the water and soke them selves. A great ending to a great day!

Spear Fishing

Aaron's main hobbie on the island is spear fishing, if he is not working, at school, or working out, he is spear fishing. He is good at it too! He goes all over the island and with whom ever is available to go with him. Here are a few different pics before he is off.
Here is Derek Williams, Aaron Jones, and Lance Ford headed out to spear at Sun Set Beach.

This adventure was at Turtle Bay. From left to right is Kurtis Reynolds, Aaron Jones, Wade Hill, and James Low. For Labor Day we went to Kawela Bay, played in the water, had a BBQ and the guys went out spear fishing. They have decided that Kawela Bay is the place to go right now.

Sumida Farms

For Kali's school we went on a field trip to a water crest farm called Sumida Farms. It has been owned by a Japanese family for three generations. They showed us how to plant and grow water crest. They use fresh water from a spring to irrigate. We were able to play in one of the water fields before they started laying it down to grow. After they have fresh water down then they just take the water crest and throw it on the ground side by side and they let it grow. It was interesting. The kids had fun playing in the water and drinking from the fresh water hole where it drained into the fields.

BABY NAMES

Aaron and I have chosen three names that we agree on for a boy! I am only like 10 weeks along I don't really know what the gender is, however, Aaron is set on having a boy. So here are the names we have chosen: (drum roll please)

Kale
Krew
Kaden

We are kind of partial to Kale since it is a Hawaiian name and then Kali and Kale would be our Hawaiian babies, but we really have not decided yet. So go ahead and let me know which name you like the best.

Discovery Center

We took Kali and Drew to the discovery center and they had so much fun. They could of been in their all day. They got to go shopping and be cashiers, news reporters, doctors, bus drivers, play in a mouth, play as pro basketball players and much, much more.

Spleeps!

Kali loves doing the spleeps (splits) right now. Everyone gives her a big reaction so she thinks it is so entertaining. She loves to be the center of attention and have everyone tell how funny she is and how good she can do things. Even when we are home alone she will say over and over moma moma spleeps, moma moma spleeps as she performs her splits.

Moks Island

We took Kali on her first Kayaking adventure to the Mokulua Island (the locals call it the Moks). She did really well, we saw a turtle on the way over and she was all excited. Aaron and the boys went spear fishing. Aaron caught an octopus and a trumpet fish. Kali and Bella played hard and then eventually crashed. Kali enjoyed Uncles James burying her in the sand over and over again.
