We went the Laie Carnival and Kali had so much fun! They had all sorts of rides and food and activities for the kids to do. She tried her first bite ever of cotton candy, which she loved. (Of course, it is pure sugar.) She got to go on a train ride with her friends Seth and Eli and decorate Halloween pumpkin cookies. She spent more time eating the m&m's, chocolate chips and candy corns than decorating with them. She also did a bean bag toss which she thought was a blast because it had an octopus on it and she loves octopus. She only threw it once behind the line and she made it in, but I couldn't get her to stand behind the line after that she thought it was much more practical to walk up to the board and put the bean bags in the holes then she won every time and got to pick out a prize. So smart:)

Kali's Swimming Lessons
I have been teaching swimming lessons for a month now, and I get to teach Kali after my lesson and it has been so much fun. She is fearless, just like her father. She jumps in no problem and then she will kick her legs and blow bubbles, she will even let me help her float on her back. It is so much fun. The two toys she always has to have are Nemo and Dori when she is in the pool. If you notice the bandages on Kali's knees in the picture where she is jumping in the pool, this is because she is going through a bandage faze where she has to always have some on. So I bought her the princess tattoo one's that look like stickers. She loves them and always shows them off to everyone.

Pa'ina Water flourishing with Love
A Pa'ina is like a graduation from this session of school. The title of this session was Water Flourishing with Love. They targeted all the activities around water play. It was a fun session with lots of learning experiences for Kali. I have definitely seen her grow in knowledge and understanding this session. It was been very rewarding. For this Pa'ina they had little swimming pools set up for the kids and a makeup artist who made balloons for the kids and painted their bodies. For Kali's balloon hat she wanted the color blue, which is her favorite color and an animal on top which she chose a dog. Then she got a snake on her leg for her painting. She was so cute trying to hit the pinata, I have video of it and she has some pretty hard swings.

Discovery Gardens
For Kali's school we went to the Discovery Gardens where the kids took their O' O's and helped pull weeds. An O' O' is a big stick that Hawaiians use to till the dirt or use sort of like a hoe. It has a sharp slanted end. The kids made them in school last week and now them get to use them. The O' O' Kali is holding is not the one she made we could not find hers, sadly I think it was stolen by the kids running around TVA. Anyways, Kali got to do some gardening today. Here is a picture of her headed out to the garden and then a picture of her working in the dirt, and then a picture of her trying to stab Ella with it. She gets distracted easily. After about two minutes of hard work her and Ella got some water and hung out in the shade with the dog. Then they went exploring around the gardens and Kali spent a lot of time sitting on different parts of the white fence. Then she found those fun logs to play on and of course jump off of. She loves to jump! Last but not least they had water time, so they got to play in the water and soke them selves. A great ending to a great day!

Spear Fishing
Aaron's main hobbie on the island is spear fishing, if he is not working, at school, or working out, he is spear fishing. He is good at it too! He goes all over the island and with whom ever is available to go with him. Here are a few different pics before he is off.
Here is Derek Williams, Aaron Jones, and Lance Ford headed out to spear at Sun Set Beach.
This adventure was at Turtle Bay. From left to right is Kurtis Reynolds, Aaron Jones, Wade Hill, and James Low. For Labor Day we went to Kawela Bay, played in the water, had a BBQ and the guys went out spear fishing. They have decided that Kawela Bay is the place to go right now.

Sumida Farms
For Kali's school we went on a field trip to a water crest farm called Sumida Farms. It has been owned by a Japanese family for three generations. They showed us how to plant and grow water crest. They use fresh water from a spring to irrigate. We were able to play in one of the water fields before they started laying it down to grow. After they have fresh water down then they just take the water crest and throw it on the ground side by side and they let it grow. It was interesting. The kids had fun playing in the water and drinking from the fresh water hole where it drained into the fields.
