Aaron made me a beautiful plumeria lei for mothers day, and the girls he works with made me the tea leaf lei, THANK YOU they were beautiful!
Here is a poem for all of you mothers out there, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
BEFORE I WAS A MOTHER
Before I was a mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.
I had romantic time with my hunny.
Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted.
and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.
Before I was a Mom
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom
I had never been
puked on
pooped on
spit on
chewed on
peed on
or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a Mom
I had complete control
of my mind my thoughts my body and my mind.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child
so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby
just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom
I didn't know
the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was ok.
I had never known the warmth the joy the love
the heartache the wonderfulment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Hukilau Beach
Our ward had a barbecue at Hukilau beach today. Before we headed off to the beach I had Aaron take some "before" pictures of me, I am able to start working out on Monday so I wanted some before and after pictures. Then Kali wanted a turn, and this is how she posed, it made Aaron and I laugh so hard, he was like, "where did she learn that?" I honestly don't know I didn't teach it to her, she is a natural. When we got to the beach we noticed they had Iosepa out on the water, it is the Hawaiian canoe, they launch every once in a while, it usually is found outside of the PCC. So I got some shots with Kali in front of the Iosepa. I was pretty excited because I lately have been wondering how you get the effect of shooting an object and having everything else around it blurry, I love that look. Well, I succeeded on accident today, but I love the results.

Kali and Kaiya

Oatmeal Please!
Kali will eat oatmeal breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let her. Usually she is patient enough for me to cook it first, but for some reason today she just decided to dig in and eat it right out of the box. She likes it like that too, I guess I better start having it ready for her before she wakes up. She is kind of particular about how she eats it after it is cooked, it has to be in her pink bowl with her small spoon. She is too cute!
Zoo and Waikiki
Kali's school had a Zoo day, so we went with Natalie and her son David to the Zoo. It is always a good time, Kali just loves, loves, loves the Zoo! Then we walked down Waikiki and looked around got some Cold Stone, YUMMY! let the kids fall asleep and then just chilled on the beach until they woke up. It was a nice day.
Ko'Olina Kai
Our neighbors Chad and Melissa invited us and our neighbors Jess and Rose to stay with them in their sweet house in Ko'Olina. We spent the day at the pool, it was so nice and relaxing. Kali and Kaiya had the funnest time playing together! Kali loves to put her face in the water, we can't get her to put her whole head under by herself yet, but she will dip her face, it is pretty entertaining! She had a fun time jumping off that wall to her dad. Thanks Chad and Melissa it was a nice little get away!!!!

Krew's Baby Blessing
We blessed Krew on May 4th. My parents were able to come out which I am so thankful for. It was a wonderful week. It was a vacation for me, I don't think my dad ever put Krew down the whole time, he was so good with him! Aaron gave Krew an amazing blessing, I am so thankful that Aaron holds and honors his priesthood, what a blessing that is to our family! Krew's little tuxedo that he is wearing was made by our neighbor in Washington, so cute! Thanks Sister Jones. I love how Kali and Krew are making the same face in one of the pictures:)
