Sunset Beach

I didn't bring my camera, but I am glad Melissa did:) She captured some fun pics of our Aloha Friday at Sunset beach. Krew is getting old enough now that I am now soaking him in sunscreen and letting him play more in the sand and water. HE LOVES IT! I tried for the first time putting him in an inner tube and he just chilled. It was so nice. Thanks Auntie Cori for Krew's rad board shorts and rash guard:)

Hillarious!

Mothers of teens know why some animals eat their young.

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat
word for word what you shouldn't have said.

Children: You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching
them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 years
telling them to sit down and shut-up.

Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.

I love to give homemade gifts. Which one of my kids
do you want?

Children are natural mimics who act like their parents,
despite every effort to teach them good manners.

Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like
shoveling the drive before it has stopped snowing.

"There is only one pretty child in the world... and every
mother has it." - Chinese Proverb.

Children will soon forget your presents. They will always
remember your presence.

The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind
yourself that there are children more awful than your own.

Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your kids.

"Who are these kids and why are they calling me Mom?"

You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of
the people some of the time, but you can never fool mom.

A child's greatest period of growth is the month after
you've purchased new school clothes.

Anyone who says "Easy as taking candy from a baby"
has never tried it.

The best inheritance parents can give their children is
a few minutes of their time each day.

Update on kids

Kali went from miss modest to not wanting to put any clothes on EVER! Her reason, "they all bother me" (said in a whiny voice). I think she must have lost some weight because all of her shorts and skirts fall off of her. Thank goodness for wonderful neighbors who let her dress in their children's clothes. For some reason Kaiya and Lili's clothes fit her just fine, but not her own. Kali really likes the movie, "Toy Story" right now, thanks Auntie Hillary for letting Kali borrow it. When we were at Costco the other day Kali insisted on getting the boys pull-ups because they had Toy Story and Cars. Thanks to Auntie Angie, Kali knows how to spell her name, K-A-L-I. Kali loves to have her back tickled, just like her daddy:) I am amazed at her memory. When ever we go for walks or to certain places she can remember what happened there, even if it was a year ago. She also has a good sense of direction.

Krew right now is starting to push up on to his hands and knee's and rocks a little. It doesn't last for long, but Aaron and I get really excited when he does, which makes him laugh. Krew is so good in the water. Today we went to Sunset Beach and I put him in a inner tube and he loved it. His favorite food right now is poi.

I am raising opposites:
Kali sucks her left thumb, Krew sucks his right thumb
Kali is a picky eater, Krew will eat anything (so far)
Kali rarely smiled (as a baby), Krew always smiles
Kali had to always be held, Krew prefers hanging out
Kali loves to cuddle, Krew does not
Kali sleeps with the door open, Krew likes the door closed
Kali is not a T.V./movie watcher, Krew will sit and watch anything:)

Gymnastics - back in session

We took the summer off, but Kali is so excited to get back into gymnastics and this time with a couple of her friends, Taylor and Brylie:) They all did so well! I got some pictures of them doing their forward rolls and waiting so patiently for their turn. Good job girls:)

Kayak to Goat Island

Thanks Howard's for letting me and the kids kayak over to goat island with you! Kali has been talking about wanting to kayak again FOREVER, and she loved every minute of it. While on goat island Nate found several dead crabs which the girls were petrified of AT FIRST, then they decided they weren't so bad:) Little Nate loved them though and just wanted to hold them, do you see where the crab is in the photo with little Nate?:) Krew did some swimming, and then crashed. He slept most of the time while the rest of us hung out and enjoyed the sun, in our own private lagoon. This was the same place Aaron and I hung out on our little date. It is the perfect spot. Kali, Lili, and little Nate had a blast looking in the tide pools and jumping and playing in our own little hot tub. The water was so nice!

NEVER FORGET

With tear filled eyes and a humble heart I sit and reflect of that day
7 years ago when America was under attack.

It was 7:45 am in Provo, Utah and I was driving to work in my Nissan maxima, listening to the radio, I had just pulled into my parking spot when all of a sudden the song was interrupted by a breaking news update, it was then that I first heard of the tragic event. The World Trade Center had been hit by an airplane. I just sat there listening to what the man was saying in disbelieve. Was this a joke? I sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out what was going on. After sitting there realizing this was really happening, I jumped out of my car and ran upstairs to the Law office to see if everyone else there had heard. I walked in the doors and all the radio's were on, everyone listening in silence. I could not believe it. It wasn't until my lunch break that I ran home and turned on the T.V. that I got to see actual footage of it, I just sat there in tears.

Today was a day of remembrance and prayers for those families who have lost love ones.
I found a couple of video's on YouTube:

I Believe
I Miss You Daddy

I hope we all take a moment to REMEMBER and to pray for those still suffering from that day 7 years ago.

Sundays are AMAZING

I have said it once and I will say it again, "I love SUNDAYS!" They are my favorite day of the week. I woke up on Sunday morning and I was barely able to walk. My back was aching. It took me a few minutes to figure out what I had done to cause me such pain. Then I remembered, I had carried Krew around in is front pack while going for a walk the previous day. I was out running around, going to the soccer game and then to Foodland and McDonald's. 6 hours later I returned home and did not realize the error of my ways until the following morning.

So here we are back to Sunday morning with an aching back. I was struggling trying to help the kids. So of course in my head the question of whether or not I should go to church arises. Let's just say I am so glad I decided to go because it is always days like this that you feel like every message was catered just for you. And this Sunday was just one of those days. I could not believe in sacrament meeting the three songs we sang, were two of my favorites and then one of Aaron's favorites. I even thought it a little odd our opening hymn was "I stand all amazed," usually sung as a sacrament hymn, but they had to sing that one so they could squeeze in my other favorite as the sacrament hymn, "I know that my Redeemer lives." Both of these songs have amazing words that bring tears to my eyes and I will never forget watching my dad (whom I love and respect so much) tear up on the stand as a bishop while singing these to songs on two different occasions. Sunday was testimony meeting and I always love hearing people bear their testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Gospel doctrine and Relief Society just continued on with wonderful messages reminding me of how to be a better teacher by teaching with the spirit and that "Charity Never Faileth" the motto of Relief Society.

Then as a family we went to the temple visitor center and then on a walk to the beach. While at the visitor center I was trying to take pictures of Kali and Krew was trying to escape out of the stroller. Krew is so strong and pulls him self half way up on things all of the time.

Krew just continues to adore is big sister and always laughs so hard at her no matter what she does. We have also started to notice how much Krew enjoys his fathers attention. At such a young age he always needs to know where Aaron is and wants Aaron's full attention at all times. He loves his daddy and wants to make him proud:)

Kali was running a long the beach and then all of a sudden she saw something move and it freaked her out. We saw it was just a crab, so Aaron picked it up for us all to look at. It was a nice day with the family!
