Family Reunion-Bear Lake

We had a great time at Bear Lake for our Wood Family Reunion.
Played in the pools, the lake, on the playground, on scooters and bikes and skateboards.
Lots of good family time.

Check out Kolt.  He is pulling Krew's hair.
Kolt thinks he is funny.
Krew is mad at Kolt for pulling his hair and Kolt thinks it is REALLY funny!

Kali's winnings

We went to the mall on Saturday to get some of Kali's school clothes
and they had several non-profit organization tables set up.
At each of these tables they had drawings for a $40.00 gift card
and Kali won one of the drawings.
She decided to spend her winnings on some new running shoes,
so she could be the fastest one in school.
We did not have any luck on Saturday finding these golden shoes,
but she did find a cool dolphin watch and this cute outfit.
I let her buy her clothes and her watch all by herself.
She got to slide the card and sign for it.
She loved it, she felt so grown up:)
I did not want Krew to feel left out so we bought him a
batman shirt and a gun, both of which he LOVES.
I hope I can get him to take the shirt off with out to much of a fight
and I hope I don't have to pry the gun from his hands
when we go to church;)

FHE

We spent FHE outside together on the skateboard.
Kali is a natural and loves cruising down our little hill.
She looks like she is surfing on her skateboard.
Kolt enjoyed the action from the grass.
Kolt is 81/2 months and he started crawling on his knees today.
Krew showed us his style of skateboarding
and he always remembers safety first when riding his scooter

4th of July

Yes my blogging is WAY behind.  But I have the pictures and I must blog about them;)
Kali and I woke up early to run the 1st annual Parly P. Pratt 5K, while the men slept in.
Kali and I ran about 4 times to prepare for this race, and I had let Kali set the pace,
which had consisted of run a couple blocks walk a block.
She had told me she was concerned because she wanted to win the race,
I told her that she could possibly win in her age group but probably would not win
the entire race.
Race day came and my little competitive athlete came to win.
She ran 3.2 miles in 30 min.
I was so proud of her, she was so determined to win, and I am pretty sure she did win
in her age group:)
Patriotic finger nails:)

look who is in town!

We are so excited to have Kayla visit for 2 weeks!
The kids have been so excited and have had so much fun!!
Since Kayla has been here, we have gone for a walk in the canyon,
spent two days at the aquatic center, one of which happened to be the 10th anniversary celebration,
so we got in for 1 dollar each.  They had music playing all day and then they had a dive-in movie.
We got there at 3pm and didn't leave until 10:30 pm.
Kali and Krew have LOVED playing dinosaurs with Kayla.
Kayla is such an amazing big sister!
We are getting ready for a weekend at Bear Lake, followed by some camping, rock climbing and shopping.
It is going to be a busy week, and after things slow down hopefully
I can get some pictures up!

picture pile up

It has been one month since my last post.
I have figured out why I struggle so much with blogging.
With three kids, (one being a baby that NEVER wants to be put down)  I am not taking pictures like I used to and documenting the kids life, like I like too!!!
Since I do blog posts off of pictures I have taken my blog is suffering;(

So here is a pile up of pictures that have been taken and have been waiting to be posted.

Kali first learning how to catch a ball
her first catch

a little hot chocolate club with Janica and Warren

Kali, Emily and Lilly playing at the park
Lilly and Kali playing dress up
Kali and Krew love doing puzzles right now.

Kali learning to blow up a balloon for the first time
Kolt in his Aden and Anais swaddle blanket from Auntie Hillary.  It is the best blanket ever!

Janica Larae Photography took these pics of Kolt and I.  I love mornings with Kolt, he just hangs out and makes noises and smiles.  I think this is why some mornings I never want to get out of bed because if I do I have to deal with fighting, crazy, whinny children and Kolt crying all day because I can not hold him all day.

Kids love playing with Jo Jo!!!!
summer time + watermelon = cute pics of happy kids

No matter where I hide the markers and no matter how high I put them, Krew finds them and decorates himself while the rest of us our in our REM cycle.  Sometimes he decorates innocent sleeping by standers.  He was so proud of himself when I had him look in the mirror to see what he looked like.  He said he was Iron man.  I guess maybe I need to buy him a costume so he does not feel the need to transform himself with markers.  Luckily they are washable, so the color melts off in the shower.

And the kids can not get enough pancakes, they love them and they love to decorate them!

More about Kali,

She taught herself how to ride a bike.  A few weeks before she did this I had decided it was time to help her learn how to ride a bike without training wheels, so I took them off and helped guide her and tried to get her use to the feel.  Well after about 5 min. she was over it.  Fast forward two weeks, we were at a BYU-H reunion and the Reynolds home and Kali hopped on a bike there and started riding without training wheels.  We came home and lowered her bike seat and the rest is history.  She now rides her bike everywhere like a pro.
Kali really wanted to run in this 5k race for our stake.
We only went out running twice for a couple of miles to train.
On those two runs I would let Kali run as long as she could and then we would walk
for a little and run again.  So naturally I planned on running the race in this fashion.
Kali was concerned about winning the race.
She told me several times that she wanted to win it.
I told her she might be able to win in her age group but not against the adults.
When race day rolled around she was determined to win the race.
Instead of our normal run, walk, training fashion, she did not want to stop running.
We ended up finishing in 31 minutes.
She only stopped 3 different times during the race and walked about 10 steps and then continued her run.
She gave me a run for my money, I was hurting, but there was no way I was going to stop
when she was determined to win.
She did such an amazing job!
I was so proud of her.
In the last mile we had caught up to an 8 year old boy and as soon as he saw
Kali behind him he took off sprinting,
Kali sprinted after him and passed him,
I told her to relax till the last block, then she could sprint passed him.
When the last block came, she took off sprinting, but half way there I think
she realized he was going to win and she started crying.
I told her to keep going, I grabbed her hand and helped her run to the finish line.
She had worked to hard to stop and be disappointed now.
She finished about 10 ft. behind the boy.
I am so amazed with how determined and competitive this little girl is,
but at the same time I am not surprised, hello look at her parents;)
