It has finally happened...

I always wondered when the day would come that Kali would fall asleep eating. I could not believe my eyes when I walked into the kitchen and Aaron was laughing and taking pictures of Kali, I could not believe she was really asleep. I guess that is what happens when she gets up at 6:00 am and goes non stop all day, riding bikes, swimming, playing on the swings, etc. by 3:30 pm this is what happens. I really wish I was there to witness it but sadly I was not, I remember watching video footage of my brother Nate falling asleep at dinner time and crashing face down into his food, ever since then I have waited for the day that I would be able to film my own children doing this same thing, maybe next time. We had just gotten back from the pool and Kali really wanted cheerios before her nap so she had eaten a couple bowls and I decided to jump in the shower, when I returned this is what I saw. So after Aaron and I had our fun talking pictures we put her to bed, I went into her room to check on her and I found her on the floor. Poor girl, exhausted! While she was swimming today, she was going 100 miles an hour. She would jump into the water swim to the stairs, back to the side of the wall, jump, swim to the stairs and on and on, she got creative in her jumps trying spins and running in the air, she was really entertaining. After about 15 min. non stop she got up on the side walk and threw up, it was pretty much just water, but she was funny, she acted like nothing happened she just kept on going. Brylie was with us and both of these girls are becoming quite the little swimmers.

Shark bait oohaha

I went swimming with the sharks! So I finally did it, and it was a BLAST! Thanks to my wonderful husband who made this possible. He decided it wasn't for him, he wasn't into paying money to see sharks in a cage when he has already seen them for free up close while spear fishing :O. He stayed home, got up with the kids at 6:00 am while I was in Haleiwa seeing sharks up close for the first time in my life. I really wanted to know how I would re-act or how I would feel seeing sharks so close. Surprisingly enough I was calm and it was just so amazing. Aaron thought I was crazy seeing how I freaked out in the water the few times I tried to spear fish with him. He never understood how I could be so calm and collect on a surfboard looking like a turtle or seal (live bait), and freak out while snorkeling, looking in the water fully equipped with a spear and knife. I don't know either but I honestly feel like I could spear with him now and not freak out, I think it has something to do with seeing sharks in real life and seeing how they are not out to get me:) I don't miss a second of shark week and love learning about them. I guess I feel like the more I know the less afraid I will be. Thanks to Rob and Jana Potts for organizing this fun excursion and thanks to Noel for being my date:)

Kalibunga!

Today was Kali's first time on a surf board and she was amazingly calm. She is 2 1/2 years old and she is a little fish in the water, she will already swim underwater. She did it today, from Erin Nelson to me she swam horizontally like two strokes!! (or should I say two doggy paddles). Today was a nice relaxing day in Waikiki. We rented surfboards and I got to go out for the first time in over a year, I was so excited!! Thanks to my babysitters, the Nelsons, and the Duffins. Thanks guys! I love these sequence of pictures, Kali first all excited on her board ready to go, then she is waiting, looking for a wave, she sees one "mom is this right" and then stands up, WIPEOUT! Then she is up and ready to go again:) Finally, apau.

Laie Days = Party Time!

Hawaiians know how to party!! Laie days goes from July 13-July 26 packed with fun and entertainment for the whole family:) They have several sporting events that last through out the night and plenty of food and fun through out the day. Kali decided she wanted to go on a bike ride after her nap today, to Foodland and get some shave ice, at Angel's. Upon our arrival we noticed the center of the parking lot was full of fun slides, rides and bounce houses. Kali was in heaven and so was I, it was FREE! As we headed over we ran into Matti and Eden Parker which was so fun, we haven't seen them in a while so it was nice to hang out and let the girls play. Matti was nice enough to jump on a ride with Kali since she was a little hesitant to go on it by herself, which surprised me, she is normally fearless, I think she realized during the ride that, (as Kali would say), "it wasn't to bad." Eden loved Kali's bike and had a nice little ride on it. After Kali had all the fun that she could she decided she was tired and ready to go home, totally forgetting about her shave ice, we were off. However, on the way home she remembered, and she was so funny, she abruptly stopped her bike and looked up at me in shock and said, "mom, we forgot shave ice!" It made me laugh! I told her we would do it another day which didn't seem to bother her because off she went again on her bike until I guess she got tired because in mid stride she dismounts her bike and the bike continues on with out her, she says, "apau" (which means all done, in hawaiian) and then starts walking, once again bursts of laughter from me. She was being so funny.

The pictures of Kali and Krew were from earlier in the day, I had set Krew on her bed and left the room, when I returned I found Kali laying next to him, it was so cute!! Krew adores his big sister, every time she talks to him, it makes him smile:)

Recovery Day

Yesterday was a lazy day, recovery from the busy day before and the fact that it kept raining on and off wasn't motivating me to hit the beach or be outside too long. During the morning showers we had Kaiya come over and play with us. Timeouts are not supposed to be fun, apparently these girls didn't get the memo:) (Don't worry Melissa, Kaiya didn't do anything to deserve a timeout.) After the showers let up, I let Kali go outside and get some engergy out, she was joined with Brylie and they got on their bikes and road around together, it is one of their favorite past times, they even showed us how talented they are, by balancing and jumping off of their bike seats. Krew and Tyken also enjoyed the 15 min. of nice whether, Tyken mostly army crawling to play with Krew's face and Krew just wondering what was going on. When Mike joined us he got Krew laughing, which resulted in a fun picture, thanks Mike. All in all it was a pretty chill day.

BLOGGING DECISIONS!

What happens when you are a private blogger and you have more than 100 readers? Who do you delete first? :) LOL! JK! So many decisions in this wild blog world. Especially since this new blog list has been created, now you only have to check blogs when they are actually updated, GENIUS! You know how many hours that saves me a day! But of course there are still those annoying private bloggers (like myself) whom you still have to check and of course they don't update enough to make it worth your time daily, and when you do decide to check, what happens? You miss an important post!!! Do you feel my pain? What kind of a ridiculous rule is this anyway, you can only add 100 readers to your "list." Well, instead of picking and choosing people, LAME! I have decided, it is now time for me to step out of the private blog world and make your and my life easier. Now those of you who are mad at me, (and I always find out about this a round about way of course) because these said people are friends who don't know how to contact me so they have had to contact another one of my friends or family members in order for me to add them to my "list." I totally understand this because nothing is more frustrating for me when I find one of my old friends and get excited to see their blog only to find out they are, PRIVATE. Well, I have become more blog efficient and have found out how to still make my blog hard to find unless you happen to know my blog address and have made sure I have word verification so no more viruses. Any of you who are thinking about going private try this route first, I am hoping this will work for me so I don't have to go private again. We will see what happens. Wish me luck:)
