Na Kamalei

Kali, Krew and I go to a parent, child interaction school on Mondays and Wednesdays. We learns all sorts of Hawaiian songs, words, colors, culture, games, and dances. It has been a lot of fun for all of us. Auntie Keahe is Kali's teacher and Uncle Benny plays the ukulele for all of our songs we sing. Uncle Benny also plays with Krew the whole time so I can interact with Kali more. Today was so much fun. Kali and Kaiya dressed up, Hawaiian style and Uncle Benny turned on some Tahition drum music and the girls just started shaking their hips. They did a really good job. We didn't have a video camera, so I tried to capture it with pictures, but we will try to get video next time. They were so cute and they looked good :) Check out Melissa's Blog to see the girls singing one of their Hawaiin songs.

Taylor Lee showed up with her Grandma today because Cassie just had her baby boy, Jack. Congratulation Lee's. We are all so excited for you!!

DEUTERONOMY 4:9

...lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen,
and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life...

Natalie shared this scripture with us when explaining why she loves photography.

I share the same passion when I think of why I love photography.
I never want to forget those special moments in my life and in the life of my family.

Where a kid can be a KID :)

Today I asked Kali if she could choose any place on the island to go to today, what would it be? And guess what she chose? Chuck E Cheese's!!! She has wanted to go for awhile now, so I decided today was the day. We took Jocelyn for her first experience and she had so much fun, I am sure she will never forget it:) After a couple of rides, Kali was obsessed with just collecting as many tickets as possible so that she could pick out a toy. She had to pull apart each ticket as they came out of the machines, so when it was time to take the tickets to the ticket muncher we had to hand feed 102 tickets. I am glad Hillary wanted to do the etcha sketch, I always love those pictures. Aaron and I when we were dating use to always get those done together :) We really wanted to get a cute one of all the kids, and they were all doing a good job looking forward until like the last second some kid walked by talking really loud and as you can see, distracted every single one of them :)

It was heaven, Hillary and I got to just talk and enjoy a nice, relaxing, quiet drive because the children slept the hour drive to Chuck E. Cheese's and then slept again on the drive home.

Xcel Pro

On Thursday I took the kids with me to Sunset Beach to watch the final day of the surfing competition. This is Pancho Sullivan's 4th Xcel Pro win. I enjoyed relaxing in the sun and watching the competition while, Kali and Krew enjoyed playing in the sand, but after a couple of hours Kali decided she needed to get in the ocean so we stopped by Turtle Bay on the way home to enjoy the water.

A Child's Prayer

(child sings)

Heavenly Father are you really there?
And do you hear and answer every child's prayer?
Some say that heaven is far away,
But I feel it close around me as I pray.
Heavenly Father, I remember now
Something that Jesus told disciples long ago:
"Suffer the children to come to me."
Father, in prayer I'm coming now to thee.

(mother sings)

Pray, he is there;
Speak, he is listening.
You are his child;
His love now surrounds you.
He hears your prayer;
He loves the children.
Of such is the kingdom,
The kingdom of heaven.

I sang this song to Kali when she was a baby to put her to sleep at night.

I love to listen to Kali pray. I will never forget in her first prayer with out any help from Aaron or I, she said, "I am thankful for mommy and daddy and baby Krew, and I love them very much." It brought a tear to my eye. She is always thankful for Jesus and prophet Monson. I start to understand more and more each day why we are told to be like little children, so innocent and pure. I am so grateful for Kali in my life, she always reminds me to do what it right. She is quick to remind me if I say stupid or dumb, that those are "means words." She just keeps me in check.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Halloween was a busy week for us. Monday - D and E building Halloween party, Tuesday - gymnastics (in costumes), Thursday - Trunk or Treat for Kali's school, and Friday - HALLOWEEN. By the time Friday night rolled around all us mummies were worn out, however, we still took the little ones out for an hour and a half running from door to door down Moana Street, filling their little buckets full of candy. Kali was a little nervous at first but QUICKLY got the hang of it and even told me as we were approaching a home, "mom, stay here, I can do this myself." Tear, she is all grown up and trick or treating by herself.

Haunted Lagoon

Interesting fact about me: I don't mind doing things by myself:) Aaron and I were going to go together on Tuesday, but those plans fell through, so by the time Thursday rolled around, I found babysitters (thanks Paige and Melissa) and asked a few people if they wanted to go and no one else was able too, so, I went by myself. I was entertained by some eight year old children while I waited in line, texted my sisters for awhile when I received a text from Crystal saying her and her hubby Brandon were coming. So we went together and it was so much fun! We sat front, I was front left and Crystal was front and center. Let's just say we sat in the best or worst (depending on whether you liked to be scared) seats in the house. We had people jumping out at us dropping from the bridge, hovering over us, grabbing at us. I am so glad Crystal was with me, we spent the whole time screaming together, it was spooky!!! Even though I don't mind doing things alone, it is always much more fun with a friend.:) Thanks Crystal for a fun night of screams.
