thanks grandma

Kali was so excited when we opened the front door to find two big boxes from Grandma Tami.
Excitedly the kids tore them open to find a table and chair for each of them.
The kids have been writing ALOT and painting lately so this was a PERFECT gift for them.

Krew wouldn't let me take any pictures of him,
but he has done such a good job lately about sitting and drawing.
He used to sit for only a minute or so but now he will spend a good
15 minutes drawing on his paper.
He really wants to be doing WHATEVER Kali is doing these days.
When he wants to write he says, "mom, IW, I want to write IW."
I think that comes from a combination of learning his alphabet and trying to teach him to spell his name K-R-E-W.

my little man

Krew's game of choice.
cards.
any kind.
He likes to hand some to me and than counts the rest and put them on the ground.

ALL DONE!

This is the result of Krew dressing himself.
He is very independent these days, so he wants to do EVERYTHING himself.

Krew now talks in full sentences and in a language that I fully understand,
while others need an occasional translation.
He has started this thing where when he is talking to me will say, mommy, followed by Shanae, or Anae
and when talking to dad, it is daddy, Aughron.
He likes to say our names after mommy or daddy.
When he wants to show me something he tells me to hold his hand and than will direct me to where he wants to go.
Krew is our little peacemaker, if he thinks Aaron or I are talking to each other too loud he tells us to, stop it!
Krew is happiest outside, and with a ball, car, or sword in hand.
Lately when ever he has a sword
(which he makes out of anything sword like ie. a letter opener, medicine dropper, etc.)
he says he is going to get the bad guys.
(not quite sure where that came from?)

how could I forget

adding to Krew's favorite things, pickles and macaroni and cheese.
Today he asked for macaroni and cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

favorites.

Here are a few things that Krew will ask for on a daily basis.
If I would let him, he would live off of these.
A few other things that he really likes lately are Raisin Bran cereal for breakfast
and ice cream which he asks for several times a day.
He is a lot like his Grandpa Wood, these items look VERY similar to Grandpa's favorite things.
The whole propel or "juice" thing is driving me crazy lately,
because I am not a big fan of juice.
I normally give my children the choice of water or milk as a beverage.
Krew is starting to act like Amy Poehler from the movie "Baby Mama"
when Tina Fey hands her a drink to help her swallow her pre-natal vitamin
and she spits it out asking, "what is this?" Tina Fey replies, "it is water."
And Amy Poehler disgusted says, "it is horrible!"

Don't worry, I WILL PREVAIL! :)
He will soon be back to the good little water drinker that I know and love:)

green thumb

I am so grateful that my mom loves gardening,
I still have not gotten excited about that yet.
It may have something to do with the fact that I can not keep ANYTHING alive.
The kids had a great time helping grandma plant her flowers,
and they both have done an excellent job at remembering to water them.

Think about Jesus today

Kali handed me this picture before I went to work and said to me, "Think about Jesus today."
It is amazing to me how Kali reminds me daily to be a better person
and to think about my Heavenly Father and Jesus.
When I am having a hard time or getting upset,
she reminds me to say a prayer.
I am so grateful for Kali in my life and her constant reminders of
what this life is all about and who I need to always keep in my mind and in my heart.

Kali Time

For Kali's one on one time, she has been into games, which I HAVE LOVED!
My parents have about a million of them, so it is time to put them to good use.
We found this Disneyland game and Kali didn't want to stop playing it,
(probably because she is so good at it:)

BEFORE Aaron made is REALLY COOL LEGO house that I posted Kali and I had made these houses together.
Maybe they are not as cool as Aaron's but they were fun for us to put together.
(Kali really wanted them to have chimney's)
I really have been enjoying taking one child at a time and spending time with them,
letting them choose to do WHATEVER they want to do.

Of course I play with both of them together ALL the time since we are all home together.
But I have seen how much each of them really enjoy the one on one time I give to them.

This was something I really had a hard time with when Krew was born, feeling EXTREMELY
guilty for not being able to give Krew the one on one time I had been giving Kali for 2 years.

And finding the time to give Krew his one on one time when Aaron is gone during the week is hard,
I can't just tell Kali to go away, (how sad) so I finally found something that works.
Luckily Krew wakes up before Kali, that is our golden time:) (our ONLY time)

Luckily I have 7 more months where I get to enjoy this and than when #3 comes along ???
back to the feeling of guilt:(
no hopefully I will figure something out

a new addition...

... to the family will be here in December. My due date is December 18th.
We are very excited to have another little Jones.
Aaron of course wants another little boy.
Kayla is excited and thinks it is cool we are having another baby.
Kali is really excited and wants a baby sister.
Krew, I don't think really understands.
When I try to tell him I have a baby in my stomach,
he just points to his stomach
and says, "baby."
I am excited, I have just been extremely tired this first trimester
which makes it really difficult to play with two kids, while I am dragging.
From the last two pregnancies I seem to get my energy back in
the second trimester, so I am ready for that!

while I am gone...

...on the weekends,
working at the Country Mercantile,
it is good to know that the kids are at home playing with their dad.
(according to Kali)
They usually run around outside and Aaron gives them a rigorous workout,
consisting of sprints, sits-ups, push-ups and pushing a tire up the hill.
They mow the lawn and pull weeds.
They water grandma's flowers,
and find new pets.

like Kali the rabbit and Krew and Michael the frogs. (Kali named them.)
Aaron told her if she starts feeding them they will become her pets,
so she fed the Kali the rabbit, lettuce and carrots and she ate it all gone.
Kali was pretty excited.
They found the two frogs in the pool and Kali was concerned that they would drown.
Aaron assured her they would be OK, that they lived in water and on land.
While I am gone they make LEGO houses that BLOW MINE out of the water.
Lets just say he is the creative, crafty one in the family.
I AM SO AMAZED!!!
As soon as I get home from work,
Kali always gives me a run down of what they did that day,
and than likes to show me.
This is Kali and Aaron weeding the flower pots
and Aaron cleaning the pool.
After the sun goes down, the kids love to jump into the jacuzzi with Dad.
I just get to sit and watch, since prego women are not supposed to enjoy the steaming, hot, soothing, water :)
At least they have a blast!

Aaron really is such an amazing father and I am so thankful
that the kids get to spend some quality time with him.
THANK YOU SWEETHEART!

one on one

Krew and I had 2 full hours together before Kali woke up this morning.
I have decided since Krew normally gets up before Kali,
that will work perfectly for our one on one time together.

This morning Krew wanted to build a house out of Lego's.
And decided that was the perfect house for his cars.
He realized they could not just drive through the door so he thought for a minute
and realized if he turned them sideways than they fit right threw.
SO SMART :)

This face here is a mischievous one. This is where he decided it would be a good idea to build a tower and than destroy it by throwing the Lego's. My first reaction was to say, "Krew, we don't throw those." But than realized this was his play time and he was so excited about doing it, I just let him do it and took pictures. IT WAS SO FUNNY, how excited he was.
After we cleaned up the Lego mess it was time to play with the zoo animals.

It was sad, as soon as Kali woke up Krew knew our one and one play time was over,
he now had to share his attention with his sister and as we walked upstairs to get Kali some breakfast Krew was yelling, "Mom, play cars with ME!"

This pictures I had to take because yesterday Kali and I found these
destroyed chapsticks all over the house.
I was not sure if Krew was eating them or what,
than this morning I found this play knife with chapstick on it.
I am still not sure whether or not he ate it, but I know how he dug it out.

Something else that made my heart melt, was while
I was putting Krew down for a nap today he said, "mom, please lay by me."
I finally have been successful at putting him to
bed at night and naps by himself with out having to lay by him.
I knew he was about to pass out, so I thought I would lay there for a min.
(I know see why I am not successful, I need to be consistent.)
Anyway after about 30 sec. I was sure he was OUT.
As I started getting up his little hand pushed me back down saying,"lay down, lay down, lay down." I laughed and could not resist I wanted to just lay down and take a nap with him.

BUT, I could not Krew's nap time is now my one on one time with Kali.

how to train your dragon

Krew's first movie in a theater was how to train your dragon in 3D. Sadly he wouldn't keep his glasses on, yet he still watched it a little blury. He will really be excited when he gets to watch it on DVD and it is clear :)

mall trip

A few weeks ago the kids and I were stuck in the house with that norovirus that is going around and so after we all finally felt better,
it was time to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
So we spent the day at the mall. Playing on the playground,
riding the rides
taking pictures, eating and exploring.
The kids decided they needed these balls from a claw machine which
as we all know I am pretty confident at.
So I thought sure, $1.00 a ball sounds good to me.
$2.00 later we had a ball for each of them.
Let me tell you, if you have never won a toy from the claw machine this is the most elementary machine out there,
I am pretty sure ANYONE could win this.
The ball is so big and sticky that it is very easy for the claw to grab.

15 min.

Sadly, I had forgotten...
...until this morning, I woke up with Krew
and played with him for about 30 min.
It was his rules, his play.
JUST Krew and I.
In Relief Society last month we talked about disciplining children
and more importantly how to raise them with love and confidence.
One bit of advice was to spend at least 15 min. a day with each of your children.
ONE ON ONE TIME, and they get to make the rules, and choose the type of play.
Krew and I played together before Kali woke up this morning and
I think he liked it:)

Of course he chose to play with his cars.
So I took a car and got on the ground and drove around with him and made car noises ;)

Next on his agenda was to go outside and play cars in the dirt.
He would say, "mom, cars dirty" as he ran them around.
So he had to wash them off once we got into the house.
Then he decided to pick some weeds.
Last on his agenda was to jump on the trampoline.

I had so much fun spending time with Krew and just going and doing WHATEVER he wanted.
I am glad I remembered today the importance of one on one play time with your children,
where they pick what to do and how do to it,
and now I need to make sure I do this EVERYDAY!

Kali's Blog

Kali has decided to start her own blog,
and write all about the things that are important in her little world.
